OUR STORY

In September of 1945 as a church plant of Calvary Church in Charlotte, Trinity Bible Church was born. A small group met in various locations before finding a home in September 1947 with the completion and dedication of the Quonset Hut located at 914 Cherry Road. As the tiny congregation began to grow, it became apparent that additional facilities were needed. The “Sunday School Building” was completed in 1959 and construction on a new sanctuary began in 1967.

As the church grew, so did the vision and in 1968 Trinity Christian school was born as an alternative to the public school system. Initially, TCS met in the Sunday School classrooms of the church. A second story was added to the Sunday School Building and the Cherry Road campus was complete and dedicated in 1972.  A cornerstone was placed in the sanctuary building with the words of John in Revelation 1:9 ...for the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. Other buildings were added and Trinity Christian School thrived for over 40 years providing solid, faith-based education to thousands of students in the York County area.

It was a long-held dream for the church and the school to operate from one campus, so Trinity Church moved to the Bird Street location in 2013 and the Cherry Road property sold in 2017.

Trinity has a rich legacy in the missional work of spreading the gospel of Christ to every tribe and nation. In 1950, the church commissioned and fully supported its first missionary to Nigeria. Since then, Trinity has faithfully supported missionaries and mission organizations locally and globally, as well as commissioned several missionaries from within our own congregation to reach the uttermost parts of the earth for Jesus Christ. Trinity’s mission has always been about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Though there have been many changes over the years, one thing remains the same--Trinity exists to point people to Jesus, teaching His ways while serving all near and far.

OUR PURPOSe

Pointing people to Jesus, teaching His ways while we serve all, near and far.

OUR VALUES

Trinity is a church that...

reaches the lost by raising up the found

Trinity exists to point people to Jesus but we also recognize that if no one is trained on how to point people correctly than we can cause people to miss Jesus all together. We strive to raise up through discipleship and teaching those who already know Christ so that they can be effective in connecting others to Him.

TEACHES THE FREEDOM FOUND IN THE TRUTH

Trinity knows that the Bible is God's spoken word and the standard that all truth must be measured by. While some see any absolutes as limits to their ability to live the way they want, it is actually through this truth that one can truly be free to live a life in the way God designed it.

HONORS OUR PAST BY PREPARING OUR FUTURE

Trinity continues to stand because of the strong foundation built by those who have served it in the past. Yet, we do not live in the past but continue to move forward along the path God has laid out before us. We imitate those who came before by following where God leads next.

INVESTS IN PRAYER AS A PRIORITY

We can do nothing without God and we value highly the direct line of communication God provided us. We make sure that whatever we do is covered in prayer from beginning to end.

IS COMMITTED TO GROWING RELATIONSHIPS

Jesus made it clear that there were two things required of us: to love God and to love people. We are committed to welcoming everyone who joins us and to build strong relationships between all who attend. We make up the body of Christ and Jesus said the world would know we were His disciples by the way we love one another.

IS SOLD OUT TO SENDING

Trinity has a long history of support of God's work both abroad and locally. We know that there are people everywhere who are in need of hearing God's good news. With this heartbeat, we rejoice in being able to see people grow in their faith here then leave to serve God wherever He calls them.
